She got the bumper of her car back and then drove her car back to a parking lot. She was a very ingenious person who thought quickly. Her first book of fiction was written after Gibson rammed her car into a hill. Gibson began writing at the tender age of sixteen. Rachel Gibson is currently residing in Idaho where she and her husband and three children along with a couple of cats and a dog all live as one happy family. This episode was to change her life forever. At the tender age of sixteen, Gibson on a trip in her Chevy Vega rammed the car into a hill. It was only much later in her life that she got to learn that most Americans did not know anything about the Basques – including their culture and history. Gibson grew up in a home where her siblings had some very Basque-like names. What makes Idaho so special is that it is home to the largest number of Basques outside of Spain. In fact, her father was employed in a telephone company while her mother stayed home and took care of the family.
Her parents were not particularly rich or well off. Rachel Gibson was born in Boise, Idaho in the US.
